The unit is meant for lapping a single tape of materials like Plastic, PVC & Copper woven fabric etc., This taping head shall be working in conjunction with the Rigid stranding machine line.

Construction & Operation.

The Concentric Taping head assembly is mounted on a Main Spindle which is in turn supported on anti friction bearing. The main spindle is driven by an AC brake Motor using Timer belt and pulleys. Provision for stocking 4 to 5 Nos. of Pads at the exit end of the Taping head shall be provided for ensuring continuous production.
The Concentric Taping head consists of a tape releasing disc tensioned by an adjustable torsion spring provided for creating a back tension on the tape while lapping on the cable.
The tape from the taping head is routed on the cable through horizontal / inclined guide rollers and bent guide rod / notched cable guide tube. The overlapping of tape on the cable can be set by a increase / decrease button provided on the machine.

Controls

The AC inverter Drive along with the necessary control and protection circuit shall be provided.

Tape Tension

Tape tension is by steel band. It can be adjusted with different springs at different positions on compensated arm.

Brake

Taping head is provided with a pneumatic shoe type brake to stop it when the main machine stops.

Safety Guard

Pad Holding

Pads are mounted on a screw shaft on the body of the rotating unit. Tightening is done with a lever and in addition, a positive lock provided.

Tape Guiding

Over (chrome plated) rollers at suitable positions and polished end bars.

Die Position

Provision is made to keep dies on both sides of the connecting points (i.e. at the entry and exit to the unit). The die holder coming after the rotating unit is a sliding one.
